Learn to fish – A summer experience for the whole family

Experience the joy of fishing in beautiful surroundings along the coast of West Funen. In the summer of 2025, both children and adults can join free Learn to Fish events – a fun, educational and relaxed introduction to the world of recreational fishing.

It’s all about enjoying nature together, getting your hands dirty – and maybe catching your very first fish.

What to expect

With guidance from experienced fishing guide Danny Vitting, you will learn to:

• Cast a fishing rod
• Tie a fishing knot
• Choose the right tackle and bait
• And hopefully: catch a fish!

We begin with casting practice on the beach (without hooks) and end in the water – with hooks on the line and fishing dreams within reach.

All equipment provided

Fishing rods, lures, bait and waders are provided free of charge. All you need to bring is a good mood and the desire to try something new in scenic surroundings.

Who can join?

• Minimum age: 10 years
• Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult (applies only to June/July – not for Assens dates)
• Adults over 18 who wish to fish must have a state fishing license → buy fishing license here

The event will be cancelled in case of thunderstorms.

The events are free but registration is required.
