Bågø Harbour – marina and island life in the Little Belt

Moor at Bågø Harbour and discover one of the small islands in the Little Belt, where nature, tranquillity and a relaxed atmosphere await just beyond the harbour. Bågø lies off the coast of Assens, and the harbour is an ideal starting point if you arrive as a visiting sailor or want to explore the island on foot.

Bågø Harbour is located by the ferry berth on the south-eastern side of the island. The harbour has 49 berths, with water and electricity available on the jetties. Harbour fees are paid at the payment machine.

Facilities at Bågø Harbour

At the harbour, you will find a service building with toilets and showers as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a waiting room and a covered terrace where you can take shelter or enjoy views of the harbour.

During the summer season, there is a kiosk at the harbour. If you need a wider selection of groceries, it is a good idea to stock up before sailing to Bågø.

From harbour life to island life

Once your boat is safely moored, Bågø is perfect for exploring on foot. The island is flat, with its highest point just 8 metres above sea level, making it easy to discover much of the island on foot.

Although much of Bågø is cultivated farmland, the island also offers plenty of nature. Large meadows and lakes provide habitats for a rich variety of birdlife, while the coastline offers beautiful views across the Little Belt.

Beach and fishing close to the harbour

If you have brought your swimwear on board, you will find a lovely beach close to the harbour. Bågø also offers good opportunities for shore fishing, particularly along the island's western coast.

Allow plenty of time for your visit. Bågø is ideal both for a short trip ashore and for a stay of several days if you want to unwind and experience the island at a slower pace.

If you would like to stay on the island, there are several accommodation options. A campsite is located close to the harbour, and holiday homes can also be found around the island. Bågø Nature Centre can also be used for school trips, events and other group stays.

The depth of the harbour entrance is approximately 3 metres, while the depth inside the harbour is approximately 2.5-3 metres. The largest vessels that can enter the harbour are approximately 25 metres long and 6 metres wide, with a draught of up to 2.5 metres.
