The program
- Departure by ferry from Assens Harbor: 10:00 AM
- The wagon awaits at Bågø Harbor
- The guide introduces the postal route and gives a brief overview of the tour
- Drive past Prinsehøjen, the fishermen's houses, and Klintende
- Stop at the High-Water Stone
- Continue to the northwest point of Bågø with views of the Little Belt Bridge, Skærbæk Power Plant, the island Brandsø, and Skamlingsbanken, as well as the bay towards Hejlsminde – and of course, enjoy the beautiful nature
On the morning of Saturday, January 30, 1658, Swedish cavalry regiments gathered at Hejls and crossed over to Brandsø, while the infantry moved south from Stenderup Hage to join the main army. Swedish historian Björn Asker estimates the force on Brandsø to have been 6,000–7,000 men.
The tour then stops at the church, where the guide delves into Bågø’s history and more.
Lunch and after program
- A stop can be made at "Hesterstalden" – the island’s historic café and museum – where you may enjoy your packed lunch. After a break, the tour returns to the harbor.
- If you prefer to eat at the Harbor Kiosk, you may skip the café stop and head directly to the harbor.
