Multihulls Denmark - Catamarans, Trimarans & Proas at IMM 2026 in Assens

In July 2026, Assens will host the 25th International Multihull Meeting (IMM), where sailors from several countries gather with their impressive multihull boats. The event is open to all multihull sailors, but as a visitor, you will also have the opportunity to experience these spectacular boats up close.

From 23 to 26 July 2026, Assens Harbour will provide the setting for four days of sailing, fellowship and a vibrant maritime atmosphere. The theme of IMM 2026 is Hygge (Cosiness) for the whole family, offering experiences for sailing enthusiasts, families and curious visitors alike.

What is Multihulls Denmark?

Multihulls Denmark is a special interest club for sailors with catamarans, trimarans and proas. Members sail everything from small day sailors and dinghies to large racing catamarans and trimarans.

The club's objectives include:

• Promoting knowledge of multihull sailing.
• Supporting multihull sailors.
• Participating in events and regattas.
• Promoting this branch of sailing.

The club offers a membership magazine, shipyard visits, advice for amateur boat builders, guidance for buyers and sellers, trial sailing opportunities, annual meetings with social gatherings, and organises the International Multihull Meeting every second year, rotating between Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Germany.

Watch the Sailing from Shore

As a visitor, you can watch the elegant multihulls on the water during the scheduled sailing sessions on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The races and sailing activities can be viewed from the harbour area and the coastline around Assens Harbour.

Please note that routes and schedules may change depending on weather and wind conditions, and participation in the sailing activities is reserved for registered participants only.

Step Aboard During Open Boat

On Saturday afternoon, all visitors are invited to the Open Boat event, where you can walk around the harbour, visit the boats that are open to the public and chat with their owners about life as a multihull sailor. It is a unique opportunity to experience the different types of boats up close.

Please note that some boats may not be open to visitors. Open boats will be clearly marked.

Activities for Children

Children's activities are planned for Friday morning. If places are available, visiting children may be able to participate, although children attending the International Multihull Meeting will be given priority if demand is high.
